YOU'RE MAKING a...Cat toy | |
---|---|
Your job is to build the purrfect entertainment for a cat. Maybe it'll be a toy to chase/catch, or you could have a scratching post with somewhere to sleep or perch? Make sure the finish is all pet safe. | |
INSPIRATION LINK... | |
So Evan & Katelyn have built a number of items for their Supurrvisor that you should look at, but the foraging toys are a great inspiration to start with. Evan & Katelyn - Cat Foraging Toys - YouTube |
OUT OF...Plywood | |
---|---|
A maker fave, this versatile material is the only one you're allowed to use other than glue, nails and screws etc where appropriate. Showing off the laminated layers is extra cool and you're not limited to a single sheet. |
USING...Bolted | |
---|---|
Nuts and bolts and anything to make the holes to use them. You can always get creative with the array of nuts and bolts out there, but nothing else can used to hold the final piece together. |

Further info
Most of these project ideas and options have been selected to be as accessible as possible to a wide range of people. They should be considered as starting points for your own ideas and plans to be developed from and are intentionally ‘open’ so that different makers will create different designs whilst overcoming the challenges of the material and tool restrictions that have been chosen for them.
Depending on the limitations of someone’s workshop the generated project might not always be suitable, so if that happens you can just generate another.
The above doesn’t limit you from sanding, adding polish or finishes, and above all else, make sure that however you’re working on a project that you do so safely and with supervision or help where necessary.
Top thing to remember, have fun with this. Be inventive, share the challenges you faced and also let everyone see what you created.
