Coasters
You know, those things you place under drinks to help protect your furniture. They don't have to be boring. Find a balance between form and function, but make at least a pair.

Wood

Wood
Any wood you please, but only wood. A limited amount of brackets and other fixings are okay.

Hand tools only

Hand Tools
Zero power, other than the lights of your workshop. Seriously, don't use candles as there's zero kudos for running a blade over your thumb in the dark.

Further info

Most of these project ideas and options have been selected to be as accessible as possible to a wide range of people. They should be considered as starting points for your own ideas and plans to be developed from and are intentionally ‘open’ so that different makers will create different designs whilst overcoming the challenges of the material and tool restrictions that have been chosen for them.

Depending on the limitations of someone’s workshop the generated project might not always be suitable, so if that happens you can just generate another.

The above doesn’t limit you from sanding, adding polish or finishes, and above all else, make sure that however you’re working on a project that you do so safely and with supervision or help where necessary.

Top thing to remember, have fun with this. Be inventive, share the challenges you faced and also let everyone see what you created.

Feedback form

I’m always looking to improve the Project Maker, so if you’ve got any suggestions or notice anything that needs updating, then please let me know.
